Mr. George Hash served in the 101st Airborne Division, 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment Company C, during WWII. In the early morning hours of June 6, 1944 American and Allied Forces stormed the beaches of Normandy to start freeing France from German occupation. Mr. Hash was among the first American troops that had parachuted into Normandy just ahead of the invasion.
Mr. Hash's division went on to see action in Holland and Belgium. He was among those who held out at Bastogne during the famous Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Hash was eventually captured by German forces and became a Prisoner of War in Stalag 3C.
