Mr. Bill Taylor Interviewed by Justin Williams, 2016
Bill Taylor enlisted February 11, 1953, into the United States Air Force, after graduating from Halfway High School in 1952.
After his basic training and his tech. schooling, Bill started instructor schooling. After instructing, he was sent to Wheelus Air Base in Libya and took a tour of the Mediterranean.
He worked various jobs and was sent around until he ended up in a housing institute, where he spent the rest of his time.
When he was sent back to the States, he tried to become a teacher, which he could not because of his lack of a teacher’s degree. He was then employed as a technician where he worked for a majority of his working career.
During his time in Turkey, he was “mugged”, he worked with Turkish Soldiers, and had a Turkish woman flirt with him, all the while during the Korean War. He remarked to me later that his experiences he will always remember, and how his military training is still in use today in his everyday lifestyle.
